ChatGPT Plugin Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

The KashLog ChatGPT plugin reads financial records from your private Apple iCloud database only when you request a supported action. It does not store your transactions or other financial records on KashLog servers.

Prerequisite

You must install and open the KashLog iOS app with iCloud sync enabled before connecting the plugin. The iOS app creates the private iCloud database used by the plugin.

Data processed

The plugin may process transaction amounts, dates, currencies, categories, and notes in memory to answer your request or add a transaction. Requested results are returned to ChatGPT and are then subject to OpenAI's terms and privacy practices.

Connection data stored

KashLog stores your CloudKit user record identifier, an encrypted iCloud web authentication token, and hashed OAuth credentials needed to maintain the connection. Pending authorization requests expire after 10 minutes, authorization codes after 60 seconds, access tokens after 1 hour, and refresh tokens after 30 days.

Third-party services

The plugin uses Apple CloudKit to access your private KashLog database and OpenAI ChatGPT to fulfill your requests. Currency conversion may use Frankfurter market rates; only currency pairs are sent to that service, not your transactions or notes.

Retention and deletion

Connection data is retained until the connection is revoked or you request deletion of that connection data. Revoking the OAuth connection removes the encrypted token and related connection records stored by this service.

Your transactions and other financial records remain in your private iCloud database. This service cannot delete that data. Use the KashLog iOS app to edit or delete financial records.

Sale and advertising

KashLog does not sell your personal information or use your financial records for advertising.
